Begin your days basking in the sun and swimming at Millway Beach, a mere .48 miles away. As evening falls, venture into the heart of Barnstable Village, only .3 miles away, and indulge in its array of delightful dining options. For a waterfront experience, wander to the Mattakeese Wharf restaurant, where you can savor dinner as the twilight dances over the water. Just steps from your door, embark on a Whale Watch boat tour departing from the marina, adding a touch of adventure to your stay.

Inside, the cottage is a truly modern retreat that exudes charm and comfort. The main floor starts in the family room with vaulted ceilings, comfy seating and cable TV. Next comes the fully equipped eat-in kitchen with stainless appliances, gas stove and everything you need to cook and grill amazing meals. Right off of the kitchen is another living area with an additional cable TV and a desk (in case you HAVE to get some work done…) plus a full bathroom with attached laundry area.

There are two bedrooms on the main floor. The primary bedroom is by itself off the family room and features a private en-suite bathroom, a heavenly California king bed, great views and another work space in case you really need some where private to get work done, or just spend some time reflecting. The other main floor bedroom is on the other side of the home, off of the kitchen/living room and is perfectly appointed with double bed and tasteful decor. Ascend the spiral staircase to find the third bedroom, nestled in the eaves, offering a unique and whimsical hideaway with two twin beds and a lovely seating nook next to the windows. The main floor bedrooms have adjustable beds.

While the inside of the home is amazing, the outdoor space is peerless. Tucked behind a privacy wall, blocking you from prying eyes, is a magical oasis with different seating and entertainment areas complimenting different times of day. Watch the morning light grow while sipping your coffee in the smaller, lower seating area off of the deck. Swing away the afternoon with someone special on the two person wooden swing. Spend sunsets rocking away on the deck while sipping that first Cape Codder of the night. Evenings are for s’mores parties around the wood burning fire pit. Enjoy meals any time of day at the dining table, next to the gas grill.

Ductless AC units in all bedrooms and living areas ensure comfort during warm summer nights. A whole-house automatic generator provides peace of mind, ensuring your stay remains uninterrupted by unexpected power outages. After a day at the beach, rinse off in the outdoor shower, conveniently managed with the beach pass provided, giving you free parking at Town of Barnstable Beaches.

This cottage is impeccably decorated with a fantastic view of the salt marsh. "Cape Cod" at its best. A short walk one way to the harbor, restaurants, whale watching expedition boat and beach - in the other direction, several coffee shops, restaurants, a market. We were fortunate to have a local family in Barnstable check out the property, and it was everything as it was represented on the website. It is uniquely situated close to the beach (an 8-minute walk, also great seafood dinners at Mattakeese Waterfront) in one direction and an 8-minute walk to the center of the village of Barnstable, which was established in 1639 (great coffee at Nirvana, terrific breakfasts at the Buttercup Café). The house is meticulously maintained and boasts, by far, the best-appointed kitchen we have ever encountered in a rental property. The kitchen would make a five-star Michelin Chef proud. Additionally, the outdoor area is to die for! It features a spacious patio, a beautifully landscaped garden, and a stunning view of the marsh. Coffee overlooking the marsh is idyllic, as is watching the magnificent sunset with a glass of wine. We had the opportunity to entertain our local hosts with a terrific barbecue in the backyard, complete with a top-tier Weber gas grill and an ideally situated fire pit. None of this would have been possible without the expert guidance from Adam Marks, the leasing agent. His local knowledge and professional approach made the process smooth and enjoyable. He ensured we had everything under control and followed through when we departed. He is top-flight and a true asset to the rental experience! For anyone or family who is considering visiting this historic village on Cape Cod, I can't recommend staying at the “Time and Tide Cottage” enough. We fell in love with it and we're sure you will too!" (10/5)
