Shadows of the Deep
Join Dr. Greg Skomal for a white shark research update on September 19 at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History.
Fifteen Years Tracking the Deep
Dr. Greg Skomal is a senior fisheries biologist with the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries and directs the Massachusetts Shark Research Program. For the last 15 years, he has studied the life history, ecology, and behavior of white sharks off the coast of Cape Cod and beyond, tagging more than 300 sharks with state-of-the-art technologies to understand how these apex predators hunt seals along our coastline. His work strives to reduce shark and human interactions, solving the intricate puzzle of how we can coexist with these charismatic creatures.
