Pumpkin People in the Park

Chatham's celebrated Halloween tradition, recognized by Travel & Leisure as one of America's best, runs October 12-31 at Kate Gould Park and Main Street.

Outrageous Creativity on Display

The Pumpkin People are fashioned by local businesses, organizations, and community members who transform simple gourds into elaborate characters. Each display is a feat of imagination—some towering, some whimsical, all unmistakably outrageous. From October 12-31, Kate Gould Park and the bandstand on Main Street become an open-air gallery of autumn ingenuity, where the only limit is how far creativity can stretch a pumpkin.

Why Chatham Owns October

Travel & Leisure Magazine ranked Chatham as the 4th best town in America for Halloween, crediting the Chatham Chamber of Commerce and Merchants' Association's Oktoberfest and Pumpkin People in the Park. From October 12–31, Kate Gould Park and the bandstand on Main Street transform into a gallery of outrageous pumpkin displays, each one fashioned by local businesses, organizations, and residents. It's the kind of autumn tradition that turns a village into a destination.
