Watch butterflies emerge from chrysalis

Feed them by hand at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, where you may witness the exact moment a butterfly takes flight.

See them up close. Feed them by hand.

Butterflies are among the most beautiful insects in the world. Our Butterfly House gives visitors the chance to see and experience butterflies up close and personal. You will also be able to watch caterpillars go through the different stages of their life cycle and you may even be there at the moment a butterfly emerges from its chrysalis to join others in flight. Guests will be able to feed a butterfly by holding a small sponge brush with juice on it and watch the butterfly up close as it drinks from the sponge. What a great nature experience and photo opportunity!
