Born in Copenhagen and raised in Larchmont, New York, Max grew up racing sailboats on Long Island Sound. He arrived in Provincetown in 2002, working at Ptown Bikes and spending his free time on the harbor. He holds degrees in mathematics and history from Marlboro College.
